On May 24, 2018, Boehm & Associates’ Senior Counsel Anne Marie Rapolla finalized a $3.5 million settlement of a government medical provider’s lien claim.

The Stipulation & Order to Pay was obtained at the Marina Del Rey Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board after nearly two years of litigation and negotiation.

Defendant had denied provision of internal medical treatment for approximately 10 years. However, by the time the case in chief resolved in 2016, defendant had conceded that it was liable for some treatment.

At issue was the reasonable value of the treatment provided during the period when liability had been denied. Boehm & Associates successfully mounted a multifaceted challenge to the defendant’s valuation of the treatment.
